How to Give to Lakeview UCC
Every year a Time and Talents form is distributed to the congregation. By filling out a form, members can donate their special gifts of service to the church or any of our missions.
Lakeview UCC uses an offering envelope system for those who write checks or give cash. Envelope numbers are assigned to help with the accounting of the offering. Some members request “no envelopes” and authorize their bank to deduct an amount each month that is mailed to Lakeview and then credited to their offering account.
Pew envelopes are available for visitors who desire to make an offering or for any member who might not have brought a numbered envelope with them.
Each month the Action In Mission (AIM) committee places envelopes in the pews that reflect the current month’s designated mission. Mission gifts may also be indicated on the numbered envelopes as "Special."
Each quarter a giving statement is prepared for everyone that has given to Lakeview. In January the annual statement will be printed and made available so it can be filed with tax documents. Thus, please note that the last date that financial gifts can be received by the church is December 31. The last Sunday for 2010 is December 26.
Give to the Lakeview Foundation
If you are a member of Lakeview United Church of Christ, then you are also a member of the Lakeview Foundation. The Lakeview Foundation was established in 1991 as a means to handle long-term gifts of money or goods to support the work of the Church. It is a non-profit corporation of Lakeview United Church of Christ and the funds of the Lakeview Foundation are completely separate.
The Foundation is governed by five directors who serve five-year terms. Thus each year at the annual meeting of the Lakeview Foundation, a director is elected. Another way to remember the Foundation is through bequests in your will or through memorials when a loved one has passed away.
Your gift to this special non-profit corporation of Lakeview UCC supports the work of the church. The mission statement of the Foundation is "We want our church to remain healthy so our children, our grandchildren and all of god's people may experience, as we have, the joy of being strengthened, comforted and encouraged by the church family."
